Here's some information...

Aim High Academy has teamed up with Tecnica Jiu-JItsu to offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) classes. Our classes consist of men and women of all ages and sizes – welcoming both beginner and intermediate BJJ students.

Self-Defense and Competition
 

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes involve a core structure around self-defense.  We also complement our training with sport Jiu-Jitsu techniques – allowing for students to diversify their technique and giving them the opportunity to compete in both local and national Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.

Ranking and Class Structure
 

Although uniforms are not necessary – most classes are taught with using a BJJ gi/kimono. We have a traditional belt ranking system for students - allowing students to rank accordingly with their class dedication and progression.


Our classes are structured so that students can easily learn the techniques and lessons that are being taught. We follow a specific curriculum so that you can easily progress with your peers. Team members are always there to help – but if extra help is needed, students also have the opportunity to have one-on-one training directly with the instructor.

 

You will find that our environment will provide the perfect balance between friendly and competitive training. Our team has been taught to look out for one another – preventing and minimizing injuries or accidents.
 

Head Instructor
 

Classes are taught by Jonn Nishiguchi (Purple Belt under Pedro Sauer and Rylan Lizares).  Jonn has been training Jiu-Jitsu for over 7 years and started at the Oregon Pound academy in Corvallis, OR while attending Oregon State University.  He has had the privilege to be under instructors like Rylan Lizares,  Mike Downing and Jeff Rockwell and is currently a certified purple belt under Master Pedro Sauer (8th Degree Helio/Rickson Gracie Black Belt).
