FS- Zoe Ahrendt- Day 3

UK Journal #28

11:35 p.m.

Today I woke up early to teach an adult kickboxing class. I

definitely tried my best to make them work and I had them do some of our familiar drills that were new to them ( like shrimps and bear crawls ). However there were only two people in the class, there was Joel who was really good at sparring and then there was Paul who was equally as good at kickboxing and sparring. They enjoyed my workout and wanted me to teach the class again later in the week! After teaching class ( 12: pm ā€“ 1:00 p.m. ) Mieke took me out to eat at a cool restaurant called Beefeater where I got to get to know Mieke and her husband Dean a little bit more! After we ate we dropped Dean back off at this work and then Mieke took me to her house where we talked and hung out with Tyler until the kids class approached. I thought both of the kids classes how to do a form. They've never seen or done a form before and it blew them away after I showed them one.. they were definitely excited to learn Kumo 1. I taught classes from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m and after Mieke took me around the town more to be put in the European Culture a little bit more. Mieke wasn't originally from England and she too had to get used to the life style there ( she originally came from Holland ). After teaching a few classes already I definitely feel that Iā€™m becoming more comfortable leading rather than following. I especially got that sense when I was traveling from airport to airport by myself.
