Today I went on a run with my parents. We were doing a interval training program called c2k. During the interval we started with a 5 minute brisk walk warm-up. Then we did a 90 second jog and a 90 second walk. Next we did a 3 minute jog and a 3 minute walk. We repeated this twice. This run made me realize that not all of our work outs need to be totally exerting as long as we are trying to do better than we did before. I am trying to do a similar interval with shorter walking times and longer running time to help get ready for harder training.
