People ask you constantly throughout your life what you want to be when you grow up. This is a question I have been getting a lot lately, and I am always unsure of my answer. I answer I am definite in is the kind of person I want to become, not just in adulthood, but to strive toward each and every day. I do not want to or need to be perfect, I want to be the best "me" I am capable. So, what do I want to be? Allow me to answer-
I want to be kind and thoughtful and compassionate. I want to be respectful to others despite how they look or how they act or how they treat me. I want to be positive and supportive and in turn, be supported. I want to surround myself with people who challenge and inspire me, and hold me to the very best of my potential. I want to be reliable and to be relied upon. I want to be trusted and honest, I want to be confided in. I want to be smart and helpful, to learn something new every day. I want to be athletic, to be flexible and powerful and strategic. I want to be strong: physically, mentally and emotionally through thick and thin. I want to be a leader because of my words and my actions, whether I am aware of my affect or not.
I do not know how my life will play out, where I will go to college, what job I will have (or even what job I want to have), but I do know that I can do anything I chose as the person I drive myself to become. I will be successful, I will be smart and respectful and strong. I will be happy.
