FS-Zoe Ahrendt-The Bully Project...

Journal #3

Today I did a little research about bulling and how it can actually

physically affect kids! Doctors say that kids who are bullied experience more stomach aches, headaches, bed wetting, depression, anxiety and the list goes on. I was also surprised to learn how when these bullied kids get older the use of drugs, and suicide for them is higher than the average teen/adult.

I also learned some interesting facts about the "bully". First off what

is the real definition of a bully?

bul·ly pronunciation: “bo͝olē/”

  • noun: a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker. synonyms: persecutor, oppressor, tyrant, tormentor, intimidator.*

An article that I read said that most bullies become bullies because they were bullied before! In other words they take their emotions out on others like hate or anger, as was likely taken out on them.

To swing this full circle, back to martial arts, I forget most of my stress with homework and other things while I'm doing class or some physical activity! I always find myself in a better, less stressed mood while I'm in or just after doing class and I love it!!! Maybe that's why I'm addicted to Aim High?
