On the outside looking in
I had a conversation with a friend yesterday that is just sticking with me about being on the outside. Have you ever watched a group or seen a group of friends or family and wanted to be a part of it? Included in some way? Lots of us have felt this during our lives at times. As you get older it gets tougher to assimilate into a new group because your lives are busy and defined by things like work and kids. But the urge to belong is just as strong. When you find yourself doing things or reprioritizing in order to be included you have to stop and ask yourself, what is missing in my life? What need is out there that is not being met and can that need really be met by this group?
We already belong to a pretty elite group at Aim High. They are our second family. And inside that family are sub groups like Power Within, Make it Happen, Collective Synergy and now Ethos. We identify ourselves by the disciplines we train in: TKD, Jits and Kick boxing....these are groups too.
But don't forget that the most important group you belong to only has one member in it: YOU. Take care of yourself. Pay attention to yourself. Be your own best friend. And that will help to make sure that the other groups you belong to are really getting all of your best self!
BFFs you know who you are!
